Bright Beginnings

ABA EARLY LEARNER PROGRAM

AGES 2-4

Website Pictures-5.png

Building skills for school and for life.

The early years are filled with big moments of growth. Children are learning how to communicate what they need, play alongside others, navigate new routines, build independence, manage big emotions, and participate in the world around them.

Bright Beginnings is Bright Connections Behavioral's early learning ABA program designed specifically for young children who benefit from individualized behavioral support as they build the foundational skills needed for school and everyday life.

Through play, connection, naturally occurring learning opportunities, and evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), children develop meaningful skills in an environment designed to feel engaging, supportive, and fun.

In alignment with our mission and core values, our entire team is trained in CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention to ensure compassionate, safe, and respectful care for every child and family we serve.

Learning Through Play.
Growing Through Connection.

Young children learn by doing.

That's why Bright Beginnings doesn't look like children sitting at a table completing hours of repetitive tasks. Learning is embedded into play, movement, exploration, routines, interactions with peers, and activities children genuinely enjoy.

A morning might include building with blocks, creating an art project, playing outside, sharing a snack, participating in a group activity, practicing a daily routine, asking a friend to play, learning to wait for a turn, or communicating, "I need help."

Behind those everyday moments are countless opportunities to learn.

Our clinicians intentionally create and capture those opportunities while following each child's interests, strengths, needs, and individualized treatment plan.

What Do Young Learners Work On?

GETTING STARTED WITH SERVICES

Every child's ABA program is individualized.

There is no one-size-fits-all Bright Beginnings curriculum.

Depending on the child's individual assessment and treatment plan, goals may address:

1-42.png

Communication & Self-Advocacy

Building meaningful ways to communicate wants, needs, feelings, preferences, questions, requests for help, and requests for a break using the child's preferred communication system.

1-44.png

Play & Social Connection

Learning how to engage with others, initiate and respond to play, participate in shared activities, take turns, share space and materials, develop friendships, and enjoy being part of a group.

1-46.png

Independence

Building skills for dressing, toileting, handwashing, eating, cleaning up, managing belongings, following everyday routines, and completing age-appropriate tasks with increasing independence.

1-45.png

School Readiness

Building foundational skills that help children participate successfully in a classroom environment, such as transitioning between activities, participating in group routines, following classroom directions, independently accessing help, completing activities, waiting, attending to meaningful tasks, and navigating changes in routine.

1-50.png

Emotional Regulation

Helping children recognize and communicate emotions, access support, tolerate everyday frustrations, navigate unexpected changes, and develop individualized strategies for responding to difficult moments.

1-49.png

Flexibility & Problem Solving

Learning that things don't always go as expected—and developing skills for trying another way, accepting alternatives, persisting when something is difficult, and solving everyday problems.

1-51.png

Safety Skills

Developing skills that support safe participation at school, home, on the playground, and throughout the community.

INDIVIDUALIZED ABA

WITHIN AN EARLY LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Bright Beginnings combines the individualized nature of ABA therapy with the natural learning opportunities found in early childhood environments.

Children may receive individualized instruction while also having opportunities, when clinically appropriate, to practice skills alongside peers.

This allows skills learned during ABA to move beyond the therapy table and into the situations where children actually need them.

  • A communication skill can be practiced while playing.

  • Waiting can be practiced while making a snack.

  • Self-advocacy can be practiced when a peer has a desired toy.

  • Transition skills can be practiced when it's time to go outside.

  • Independence can be practiced while putting on a coat.

  • Social skills can be practiced with actual peers.

Real skills. Real situations. Meaningful learning.

Who Is Bright Beginnings For?

Bright Beginnings may be appropriate for young children who have a qualifying diagnosis and for whom ABA therapy has been determined to be medically necessary.

The program may be particularly beneficial for children working on skills related to:

  • Functional communication

  • Social interaction and play

  • Emotional regulation

  • Independence and self-care

  • Transitions and flexibility

  • Safety awareness

  • Participation in routines

  • School readiness

  • Challenging behavior that interferes with everyday participation

  • Generalizing skills across people and environments

Eligibility, treatment intensity, schedules, and goals are determined individually following assessment and in accordance with applicable clinical and funding requirements.

ABA Therapy—Not Daycare

Bright Beginnings is an ABA treatment program and is not a daycare or substitute for educational services.

Attendance and treatment recommendations are based on clinical need rather than child-care needs.

Each child receives an individualized treatment plan, ongoing data collection, clinical oversight, caregiver involvement, and regular review of progress.

When school attendance is applicable, Bright Connections works collaboratively with families and educational teams to support appropriate access to education and thoughtful transitions between services.

NO TWO DAYS, OR TWO CHILDREN, LOOK EXACTLY ALIKE.

What Does a Day at Bright Beginnings Look Like?

Depending on individual treatment plans, a child's day may include:

ARRIVAL & INDEPENDENT ROUTINES

Greeting others, managing belongings, transitioning into the environment, and preparing for the day.

CHILD-LED PLAY & NATURALISTIC LEARNING

Communication, social interaction, problem solving, flexibility, creativity, and individualized skill development embedded into preferred activities.

GROUP LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Songs, stories, movement, games, art, science, and other developmentally appropriate activities that create opportunities to practice participation with peers.

SNACK & DAILY LIVING SKILLS

Requesting, making choices, opening containers, eating independently, cleaning up, communicating preferences, and participating in routines.

MOVEMENT & SENSORY EXPLORATION

Opportunities to move, explore, play, and access individualized sensory supports.

PEER PLAY & SOCIAL LEARNING

Practicing communication and social skills in authentic interactions rather than only simulated situations.

INDIVIDUALIZED ABA INSTRUCTION

Focused opportunities to work on goals identified through assessment and the child's treatment plan.
